The Activity ChartField can be used to define lower-level detail of a Project.

Statewide Project Types will have a default “General” Activity available for use when a Project is entered on a transaction, with the exception of federal grants. Federal grant Projects may, in special circumstances, have specific Activities defined by an agency.

Agency-specific Project Types may use the default “General” Activity value or may have more Activity values created. An Activity ChartField value is required on every transaction where a Project ID is entered.

Activity values associated with appropriate Projects will be created in individual business units, will vary in length based on Project Type and usage, and have values dependent on the Project Type of the associated Project. Budgetary-only values are not assigned as all budgets will be loaded at the transaction level.

For additional instruction on this topic, visit the job aids published to SFS Coach. SFS Coach is accessible from the SFS home page after logging in with your SFS user ID and password.

To add or modify an Activity value, complete the Project ID and Activity Change Request Form which can be found on SFS Coach and submit it to [email protected].
