In accordance with the Project Definition, the Project Costing Improvement Project (PCIP) establishes standard guidance for when a project is needed. The following table explains if a scenario requires the creation of a project.

Customer Activities

Yes, (e.g. activities funded by federal grant sponsors or supporting billable revenue)

Pooled Costs

Yes (administrative or indirect costs, to be used to allocate to another project or account)
Cost Threshold No (cost thresholds do not need to be considered for project creation)
